What launch day looked like
The Hong Kong console listing spelled out the pre-order mechanics, which show how the digital launch rolled: pre-orders could redeem and download the game from September 24, and the download became playable at 16:00 Hong Kong time on September 29. Pre-order bonuses had to be redeemed before 15:59 that day to be kept.

Other regions unlocked at their local midnight equivalents per storefront. If you bought a physical copy or a different storefront, the date that matters is still September 29: all platforms launched the same day.
Missed the pre-order bonuses?
Pre-order items were the Twisted Cape, the Twisted Chicken pet and two extra hero skins. Some storefronts keep redemption windows open briefly after launch, but Mojang has not announced any later route to these items, so treat them as launch-window exclusives. What each edition contains.

Is there a demo or free trial?
No free version exists. The game is priced at $29.99 standard, and the closest thing to playing free is a Game Pass subscription, which includes the full game from day one.
Did the release date ever move?
No. The date announced in June 2026 held through launch. Be careful with older search results: anything quoting 2025 or 2027 for the game itself predates the real announcement.
Is this Minecraft Dungeons 2 or II?
Both spellings float around. The store title is Minecraft Dungeons II with Roman numerals, and this wiki uses that form, while noting that most people search for the numeral version. It is the same game either way.
